We adore you,
most holy Lord Jesus Christ,
here and in all the churches
throughout the whole world,
and we bless you,
because by your holy Cross
you have redeemed the world. (St. Francis of
Assisi)
A place of surrender
and comfort.
A place to know we are forgiven and have our Father's
blessing.
A place to put our petitions before God and ask our brothers and sisters to pray
for us.

"Come
to me, all who labor and are heavy laden,
and I will give you rest." Matthew 5:28
The Story of
the Prodigal Son: Luke 15:11-32.
Our Father
Our
Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name: Thy kingdom come: Thy will be
done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread: and forgive
us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not
into temptation: but deliver us from evil. Amen
Prayer
to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
O
most Sacred Heart of Jesus, fountain of every blessing, I adore you, I love you
and with true sorrow for my sins, I offer You this poor heart of mine.
Make me humble, patient, pure and wholly obedient to Your will. Grant,
good Jesus, that I may live in You and for You.
Protect
me in the midst of danger, comfort me in my afflictions, give me health of body,
assistance in my temporal needs, Your blessing on all that I do, and the grace
of a holy death. Amen.
Morning
Prayer to the Holy Spirit
Come,
Holy Spirit, fill my heart with Your holy gifts. Let my weakness be
penetrated with Your strength this very day that I may fulfill all the duties of
my state conscientiously, that I may do what is right and just.
Let
my charity be such as to offend no one, and hurt no one's feelings; so generous
as to pardon sincerely any wrong done to me.
Assist
me, O Holy Spirit, in all my trials of life, enlighten me in my ignorance,
advise me in my doubts, strengthen me in my weakness, help me in all my needs,
protect me in temptations and console me in afflictions.
Graciously
hear me, O Holy Spirit, and pour Your light into my heart, my soul, and my mind.
Assist
me to live a holy life and to grow in goodness and grace. Amen.
The
Memorare
Remember, O most gracious Virgin
Mary, that never was it known that any one who fled to thy protection, implored
thy help or sought thy intercession, was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I
fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins my Mother; to thee do I come, before thee
I stand, sinful and sorrowful; O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.
Pray and hope; do not get upset. Anxiety serves no
purpose. God is merciful and will hear your prayer.
Accept every pain and inconvenience that comes from Heaven. Thus you will attain
perfection and sanctification.
Bear in mind that the more pleasing a soul is to God, the more it must be tried.
Therefore, courage, and go forward, always.
Try to serve the Lord with all your heart and with all your will. He will always
bless you more than you deserve.
Always keep close to Our Heavenly Mother, because She is the sea that must be
crossed, in order to reach the shores of eternal splendor, in the Kingdom of
Dawn.
(Saint Pio of Pietrelcina)
O My God
When I look into
the future, I am frightened,
But why plunge into the future?
Only the present moment is precious to me,
As the future may never enter my soul at all.
It is no longer in
my power,
to change, correct or add to the past;
For neither sages nor prophets could do that.
And so, what the past has embraced I must entrust to God.
O present moment,
you belong to me, whole and entire.
I desire to use you as best I can.
And although I am weak and small,
You grant me the grace of your omnipotence.
And so trusting in Your mercy,
I walk through life like a little
child,
Offering You each day this heart
Burning with love for Your greater
glory.
(Saint Faustina
Kowalska)
ST. TERESA'S
BOOKMARK
Let nothing
disturb you.
Let nothing frighten you.
All things are passing.
God alone is changeless
He who has patience wants for nothing
He who has God has all things.
God alone suffices.
(St. Teresa of
Avila)
PRAYER OF ST.
THOMAS MORE
Good Lord, give me the grace so to spend my life.
that when the day of my death come,
though I may feel pain in my body,
I may feel comfort in my soul;
and with faithful hope in your mercy,
in due love towards you and charity toward the world,
I may, through your grace, part hence and into your glory.
MEDITATIONS
ON CHRISTIAN DOCTRINE
JOHN HENRY NEWMAN
God was
all-complete, all-blessed in Himself; but it was His will to create a
world for His glory. He is Almighty, and might have done all things
Himself, but it has been His will to bring about His purposes by the
beings He has created. We are all created to His glory—we are
created to do His will. I am created to do something or to be
something for which no one else is created; I have a place in God's
counsels, in God's world, which no one else has; whether I be rich or
poor, despised or esteemed by man, God knows me and calls me by my
name.
God has created
me to do Him some definite service; He has committed some work to me
which He has not committed to another. I have my mission—I never may
know it in this life, but I shall be told it in the next. Somehow I am
necessary for His purposes, as necessary in my place as an Archangel
in his—if, indeed, I fail, He can raise another, as He could make
the stones children of Abraham. Yet I have a part in this great work;
I am a link in a chain, a bond of connection between persons. He has
not created me for naught. Ishall do good, I shall do His
work; I shall be an angel of peace, a preacher of truth in my own
place, while not intending it, if I do but keep His commandments and
serve Him in my calling.
Therefore I will
trust Him. Whatever, wherever I am, I can never be thrown away. If I
am in sickness, my sickness may serve Him; in perplexity, my
perplexity may serve Him; if I am in sorrow, my sorrow may serve Him.
My sickness, or perplexity, or sorrow may be necessary causes of some
great end, which is quite beyond us. He does nothing in vain; He may
prolong my life, He may shorten it; He knows what He is about. He may
take away my friends, He may throw me among strangers, He may make me
feel desolate, make my spirits sink, hide the future from me—still
He knows what He is about.
O Adonai, O Ruler
of Israel, Thou that guidest Joseph like a flock, O Emmanuel, O
Sapientia, I give myself to Thee. I trust Thee wholly. Thou art wiser
than I—more loving to me than I myself. Deign to fulfil Thy high
purposes in me whatever they be—work in and through me. I am born to
serve Thee, to be Thine, to be Thy instrument. Let me be Thy blind
instrument. I ask not to see—I ask not to know—I ask simply to be
used.
